Welcome to the Honky Tonk Stompers.
The club is run by Anne and Sue who share the teaching.
We have classes in Bridport and Musbury.
In Musbury we have an Absolute Beginners Class which teaches simple dances and builds confidence. From 10.15 until 11am is usually easy dances and classics, after a welcome break where refreshments are provided we move to easy Improver level. This is a mixed ability class and we have no fixed regime. Our aim is for everyone to dance and have fun.
We have an absolute beginner class in Bridport followed by a High Beginner class. Friday afternoon we have a small class of Improvers, occasionally we will attempt an easy Intermediate dance.
We very rarely deviate from Country music but will if the dance is popular elsewhere.
In February 2007. we danced a ‘marathon’ This was a carefully worked out programme
of dances that, when the number of steps taken in each dance was added up it equalled the 26 miles and 385 yards of an Olympic marathon. 14 of our dancers completed the distance in 7 hours of dancing whilst the rest managed over 20 miles each. We raised £2250 for the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance.

In 2017 another Marathon saw us raise £3269 for The Air Ambulance.
We attend Line Dance Weekends usually two a year and have a few more lined up, see events page
We also give short demonstrations for the elderly and regularly dance at 3 Care Homes.
